Advancing, step by step, on the Corporate Sustainability Academic Turf

Tuesday, 27 October 2020 is unquestionably a remarkable day for me on several notes. One, it is the birthday of one of my daughters. One of my earliest assignments of the day was to convey best wishes to and pray for her. Plus, of course, sending her plenty of cakes and loads of drinks on WhatsApp. Not too long after, I received the cheery news that Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had scaled all the hurdles to emerge the Director-General designate of the World Trade Organization.

While I was luxuriating in the pleasure of the foregoing, I found out that I had earned a milestone of 1,000 reads for my research items on ResearchGate (Please see:

This exciting development led me to another interesting finding when I decided to look at my Author Page on Social Science Research Network (SSRN), a website which aims to rapidly disseminate social science research and facilitate communication among researchers. I found that one of my works (Ughakpoteni, Pius O., Top Management and Leadership Antecedents of Corporate Sustainability Performance: A Scoping Review (June 12, 2015). Available at SSRN: or had been cited by two scholars from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, Canada in a paper published in the Journal of Management & Organization (Sheppard, J., & Young, J. (2020). Addressing sustainable development goals for confronting climate change: Insights and summary solutions in the stress stupidity system. Journal of Management & Organization, 1-23. doi:10.1017/jmo.2020.9).

I am highly delighted that my voice is being heard, loud and clear, in the corporate sustainability research community, even from British Columbia, Canada. A modest step. To God be the glory!
